“Recently, we extolled the President’s decision to sign the Paris Pact. Today, we laud the Senate for unanimously ratifying the treaty, under the relentless push of Senator Loren Legarda; thus, strengthening our commitment in the growing global call for climate action.
It is indeed an honor to become part of the campaign that led to this historic day, and I am sure that millions of young Filipinos, who joined us all the way to COP21, are equally delighted and hopeful.
Our task now, as a formal member of the Paris Agreement, is to maximize this platform to achieve climate justice for the Filipino people, and to all peoples of the most vulnerable countries in the world.
Rest assured that I will remain one with all climate warriors in this continuing fight to help secure our children’s future.
