YesPinoy Foundation held the first leg of it’s Project 888 in Cauayan, Isabela on Saturday in the F. L. Dy Coliseum. Project 888 is a flagship project of YesPinoy that aims to go to 8 provinces within 8 months to find 8 scholars to fund throughout their College education.
Almost 2,000 students came from all across Isabela to be inspired by the speakers who came to impart their life stories and how they overcame challenges to become who they are today.
Mayor Bernard Dy opened the event by challenging the young people that they are the future of the country. And we pin our hopes on them. Michael Fua, outgoing President of AIESEC Philippines, shared his desire to help the Philippines progress, and even with numerous opportunities here and abroad, chose to serve via the Department of Education. He gamely engaged the youth during his session. Alyssa Valdez the Volleyball Phenom was unable to make it to the event but shared her ideals of hard work and perseverance through a video message for the participants.

Luke Zacharias and Evita Sardjoemissier from The Netherlands spoke about their love for the Philippines, and how lucky Filipinos are for having such a beautiful country. Luke and Evita are on a two month study tour of Foundations in the Philippines; they are two of the top students of The Netherlands.
Pido Aguilar then taught us about thanksgiving, goodness and service. And how we must be positive and work for a better future. He brought the house down with his stories and activities for the youth. Our Chairman Dingdong Dantes then challenged the youth to strive harder and make the right choices. He spoke of YesPinoy and Project 888, and answered questions from the audience on love of country, the opportunities for all young – including those who are out of school, and how we can best serve the Philippines by doing good deeds. YesPinoy’s Project 888 in Isabela was a success! YesPinoy will be going to Sarangani, Sultan Kudarat, Negros Occidental, Occidental Mindoro, Eastern Samar, Camiguin and Albay for Project 888.
