Last December 29, 2011, YesPinoy Foundation donated nine boxes containing medicines and vitamins as well as one box of doctor’s prescription pads to DepEd’s Center for Students and Co-Curricular Affairs (CSCA) headed by Executive Director Joey G. Peláez, a native son of the devastated city of Cagayan de Oro and reliable partner of YPF. E.D. Joey has initiated a relief drive for the benefit of his kababayans who have suffered the brunt of Sendong’s fury a few weeks ago. Public schools, groups and individuals based in Metro Manila have positively responded to E.D. Joey’s appeal as shown by the volume of relief goods sent to DepEd CSCA.
YPF’s medicines and vitamins for children of the storm were sponsored by the good doctors belonging to the Philippine Academy of Pediatric Pulmonologists through the intercession of Tina Vargas-Ayson who assisted YPF in the last Damayang Pinoy at Candaba, Pampanga. YPF’s medicine donation is the opening salvo of its HELP CHILDREN OF THE STORM CAMPAIGN which calls upon YPF supporters, fan groups, individuals and corporations to donate at least P100.00 that will be used in providing school supplies and other resources to public school children whose homes and schools were devastated by Sendong, Pedring and Quiel.
