One Chair, One Child: We aim to provide a new school chair for all the students of Estancia Central School in Iloilo. We know that even the chair you sit on has an effect on learning. The chairs they have there have nails sticking out, students have to share a chair, and arm tables are missing. We want to start by giving them the opportunity to sit, learn and empower themselves. Estancia was one of those towns hit by Typhoon Haiyan / Yolanda, and doubly hit by an oil spill.
Project 888: We will be going to the 8 most challenged provinces in the Philippines in terms of educational attainment and opportunity. Bringing leaders in business and industry, they will be able to teach young people how to dream, and attain that dream. Over 8 months we will look for scholars that have the potential to truly move the country forward. These 8 scholars will be trained, mentored and guided to be the best Filipinos they can be.
